ANDY TIMMONS
Andy Timmons began his music career at the age of 13 in his hometown of Evansville, Indiana. He gained international fame as the guitarist for the pop-metal band Danger Danger, with whom he has sold more than one million records worldwide and made two videos that reached #1 on MTV. His discography includes 7 solo albums ranging from instrumental tracks, to blues, to a collection of pop songs inspired by the Beatles and Elvis Costello.
Timmons has worked as a session musician, participating in CDs by artists such as legendary drummer Simon Phillips and Olivia Newton-John, for whom he was musical director and guitarist for several U.S. tours. He has also played with many other great guitarists such as Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Steve Morse, Mike Stern, Ace Frehley, Ted Nugent, and Pierre Bensusan, as well as singing stars of the 1960s such as the Beach Boys, Lesley Gore, and Gordon Waller.
Andy Timmons is known for his guitar technique, with a control of dynamics and expressive techniques such as bending and vibrato that make him uniquely skilled. His musical style ranges from jazz to bossa nova, country to metal, blues to pop rock, not to mention instrumental rock and prog rock. He has been repeatedly voted among the best guitarists in the world and "Musician of the Year" for four consecutive years in the prestigious Dallas Observer Music Awards.
