Bass Rudiments is a real gateway into the wonderful world of electric bass guitar.
Developed on the basis of field-tested teaching methodology with concrete results, it enables beginners to play the instrument right away and take on their first musical challenges.
The video course consists of 9 video lessons, covering basic music theory, practical exercises, and tips on posture and fingerings. A booklet with music transcriptions in PDF format is available for download.
START NOW#01 Picking Hand Routines
First steps on how to approach basic right hand mechanics. These simple but crucial routines form the basis for playing anything on the bass and are a recurring practice to review at any stage of your musical development.
#02 Fretting hand routines
The left hand, combined with the routines from the previous lesson, introduces us to the basic unit of harmony: the triads. Basic hand position and finger position are essential practices and also a warm-up routine for mastering the keyboard.
#03 Picking Hand Routines 2
This lesson focuses on patterns of two notes per string and how to effectively choose and alternate all string combinations. The use of double rake and the routines shown are extremely useful for scales, arpeggios and grooves.
#04 Fretting hand routines 2
This lesson covers some of the most common positions for the Pentatonic Scale and how to play it across the entire keyboard, as well as some less common but extremely useful Seventh Chord positions.
#05 Arpeggios - Triads and Seventh Chords.
With this lesson you will navigate the entire keyboard using the Minor and Major Triads. You will also learn how to harmonize the Major Scale using the arpeggios of the Seventh Chords and train your left hand to expand your technical skills.
#06 The Major Scale
The Major Scale and every combination to play this essential scale on the whole instrument using the Scale Colour System. After this lesson, the entire keyboard and all its notes will have no more secrets!
#07 The Modes of the Major Scale
The Modes of the Major Scale Revealed! Learn how to play all the permutations of the Major Scale using the Scale Colour System's intuitive diagram for the most efficient fingering, to visualize the fretboard and liberate your playing.
#08 The Chromatic Scale
The Chromatic Scale represents all the notes available in Western Music and is at the same time the most difficult scale of all. In this lesson it will be broken down and presented through the correct and efficient use of the left hand.
#09 The Blues Scale
By combining the vertical and horizontal shapes we have seen in previous lessons, chromatic passing tones and practice routines, we will add some spice to the most widely used scale ever, the Pentatonic Scale, and transform it into the Blues Scale.

ALEX LOFOCO
Internationally renowned electric bassist Alex Lofoco, born and raised in Rome, moved to London where he graduated from the University of West London.
Alex's debut prog-fusion album, Beyond, features such classy artists as Marco Minnemann on Drums (Aristocrats), keyboard wizard Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater), Eric Marienthal on sax (Chick Corea Elektric Band), pianist Jesus Molina, and guitarist, composer, and co-producer Roby Meola.
Alex gives masterclasses and clinics all over the world, invited by prestigious music institutes including the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, BIMM and ICMP London, to name a few. Alex gave his first masterclass at the Tech Music School in London while still a student.
As an author, he published his SCALE COLOUR SYSTEM guitar and bass method, an innovative system for internalizing and unlocking notes on the, which has received high praise from the press and world-renowned musicians.
