COURSE DETAILS
Following on from the first part of the course, Modern Technical Soloing #2, edited by Alberto Barsi is designed for guitarists who wish to delve into more advanced techniques and take their playing style to the max during solos.
The course, divided into 10 video lessons in 4K and aufio HD, and accompanied by a detailed booklet with all transcriptions, offers a comprehensive exploration of the phrasing and display techniques needed to become a versatile modern guitarist.
In the first part, Alberto focuses onharmonizing the harmonic minor scale and using arpeggios and advanced phrasing techniques. He continues with an in-depth study of the Japanese Hirajoshi pentatonic, exploring its forms and use in musical contexts, with techniques such as alternating strokes and tapping.
Subsequent lessons introduce stretching techniques for diminished arpeggios, joining positions for greater articulation, and creating complex phrasing with alternating strokes, legato and tapping.
The concept of "wide-narrow" phrasing, which combines low and high registers to create surprising effects, inspired by guitarists such as Guthrie Govan and Rick Graham, is then explained.
The course continues with the incorporation of the second finger in tapping, technical exercises and an example of phrasing on the pentatonic scale.
Next, the technique of "mirror tapping, " which can be used in both diatonic and outside contexts, is introduced, with examples of minor arpeggios and use of dissonant intervals such as tritone.
Later lessons focus onjoining various boxes of the pentatonic using the slide technique, creating more creative phrasing and fluid connections between positions.
The use of chromaticism in legato is then covered, improving articulation and phrasing dynamics.
The course also includes Andy James-style two-string arpeggios, with note arrangements to create interesting movements and combine conventional and penned arpeggios.
In the last lesson, Alberto combines all the techniques learned into a complex solo, which will be your launching pad into the future as a lead guitarist.

Stretching techniques for diminished arpeggios, joining of two positions for greater articulation, and use of alternating strokes, legato and tapping to create complex phrasing.

"Wide-narrow" phrasing concept, combining low and high registers to create amazing effects, inspired by guitarists such as Guthrie Govan and Rick Graham.
#05 2-Finger Tapping: Phrasing "Govan Style"
Two-finger tapping technique, incorporation of the second finger in tapping, technical exercises and an example of phrasing on the pentatonic scale inspired by Guthrie Govan.
#06 Use of "mirror" tapping.
"Mirror tapping" technique, arpeggio sequences with "mirrored" tapping notes, usable in both diatonic and outside contexts, with examples of minor arpeggios and use of dissonant intervals such as tritone.
#07 Using slides to join pentatonic boxes.
Combine several boxes of the pentatonic using slides, visualization and connection exercises, and create more creative phrasing while avoiding staying on one box.
#08 Fluid bond with chromaticism
Use of chromaticism in legato, exercises to synchronize the fingers of the left hand and improve articulation and dynamics in phrasing.
#09 Penned Arpeggios "Andy James Style"
Andy James-style two-string penned arpeggios, arrangements of notes to create more interesting movements, and combination of conventional and penned arpeggios to enrich phrasing.
#10 Combine it all for perfect technique
Combination of all techniques learned in the course into a complex solo, detailed analysis of melodic phrases and techniques used, with a focus on diminished arpeggios, tapping, legato and slide.

ALBERTO BARSI
Alberto Barsi, guitarist and songwriter, began playing guitar at the age of 11 at the Jam Academy school in Lucca, starting with the study of blues and then getting into rock\metal music and the world of shred.
He finally graduated from the London College of Music in the Music Performance and Recording course. Over the years Alberto forges numerous collaborations in the national and international scene: among the most recent experiences , he plays alongside Madame, Il Volo, Albano and Maestro Enrico Melozzi on the occasion of the Notte della Taranta 2021 broadcast on Rai 1; he plays alongsideOrchestra Notturna Clandestina and Anastasio at the Teatro Regio in Parma; he appears as lead guitarist onIl Volo's"You are my Everything" for the Eurovision Festival 2022, and also in 2022 he plays in the group of the program "Dalla Strada al Palco" hosted by Nek broadcast on Rai 2.
He has been an endorser of the Legator guitars brand since 2020, joining the roaster along with Jon Donais (Anthrax), Chris Poland (Ex- Megadeth), Ed Garcia (Vitalism) and many others.
Alberto is very active on social media, managing an instagram profile of more than 10,000 followers and experiencing positive feedback over time from the likes of Tosin Abasi, Kiko Loureiro, Marco Sfogli, Stephan Forte and others.
Through social Alberto also wins international contests such as "Solo as Perfection" - organized by Fleshgod Apocalypse - and the "JTC July Jam of the Month" organized by Jam Track Central in collaboration with Marco Sfogli (James Labrie, PFM) and appears in numerous video-collaborations together with musicians such as Charlie Parra del Riego, Oni Hasan, Stel Andre, Diego Tejeda (Haken) and many others.
As an artist, Alberto released in 2019 "A Matter of Priority," his debut solo album consisting of 6 tracks in which several guests are featured: Luis Kalil, Giovanni Cilio (former drummer of Upon this Dawning; Blanco, Marracash) and Edoardo Taddei (Roman guitarist; Ibanez Endorser and Reference Laboratory).
