COURSE DETAILS
The music harmony video course by Valerio Silvestro is a unique opportunity to take your understanding of music to the next level.
Through a series of detailed video lectures, Valerio explores advanced harmony concepts, showing how to reharmonize musical pieces, create complex progressions, and enrich your compositions with new techniques.
Building on the fundamentals of the Santa Armonia 1 and 2 video courses, this third chapter introduces the use of temporary dominants and harmonic substitutions, key elements in giving depth and interest to your musical progressions.
The course is not limited to theory; Valerio emphasizes the importance of daily practice that integrates rational, creative, emotional and sense-motor aspects.
This approach ensures that the techniques learned are well internalized and applied effectively in daily musical experience.
Lessons on the harmonized scale show how to use different harmonic functions and variations in chord positions to create a variety of harmonic progressions.
A key part of the course is devoted to exploring temporary dominances, with hands-on exercises that solidify the understanding and use of these techniques.
In addition, dominant substitutions (SubV) are used to enrich harmony, offering new creative possibilities.
Modal Interchange introduces the inclusion of chords from the parallel minor key, creating emotional and dynamic contrasts.
Diminished chords are another focus, used to harmonically resolve on higher or lower scale degrees, improving the fluidity of progressions.
Theory is always illustrated with practical examples on well-known pieces; in addition, the course explores stylistic and harmonic changes in the piece "Moanin," demonstrating the use of rhythmic and harmonic variations to adapt a piece to modern contexts.
This video course is ideal for musicians who want to deepen their understanding of harmony and gain practical tools to create richer, more engaging music. Each lesson is a step toward a complete mastery of harmonic techniques that will enable you to transform your compositions and performances.
Along with the course, you will find at your disposal a booklet with all the transcriptions of the exercises and songs covered.
